June is proving to be a busy month in respect of regulatory and trade developments that could impact the way funds are brought into the UK. As the UK/Australian governments were touting a free trade agreement in principle, law firms were highlighting deadlines relating to GDPR and data safe harbour, and regarding possible changes to UK Asset Holding Company law. Meanwhile, ESMA published its Annual Report 2020, which made clear the cutting of ties with the UK as they affect the securities markets and investment funds.
