Ranmore Global Equity Fund visibility boosted in latest IA Global sector update

Investment professionals and advisers can now see the strong performance of the Ranmore Global Equity Fund following its inclusion in the latest IA Global sector data* – accessible through data vendors such as FE fundinfo/Trustnet and Morningstar.

Launched by Ranmore Fund Management (“Ranmore”) in 2008, the Fund seeks to outperform its benchmark MSCI World Index using a Value-oriented and actively managed portfolio.

The Fund, which has a 99% active share, has outperformed its benchmark index since inception, returning an annualised 12.9% in GBP to the end of 2023.

In 2023, its +23.6% return outperformed the MSCI World Index by 6% and in 2022 the Fund increased in value by 14% when the MSCI World Index fell by 8.4%.

Trustnet data reveals that FE fundinfo 5-Crown rated Ranmore ranks in the top decile among IA Global funds over 3 and 5 year time periods, returning a cumulative 67% and 86%, respectively.

Sean Peche, Portfolio Manager, said: “We’re delighted Ranmore Global Equity Fund can now be found within IA Global, a sector closely monitored among UK investors. The Fund has performed particularly well over the past three years in a more “normal” inflation and interest rate environment, which we think is here to stay.”

Added Peche: “We hope we offer something different to investors. Unlike many well-known global equity funds, we’re finding tremendous opportunities in global mid-caps and certainly not in large-cap US tech stocks. For us, the price you pay for a share is a key determinant in your chances of a favourable return. Past performance is no indication of the future, but our outperformance versus the MSCI World Index in recent years shows you don’t have to own any of the ‘Magnificent Seven’ to beat the market”.

The Ranmore Global Equity Fund is available to investors in the UK, South Africa and Ireland. Where allowed, access is available through direct investments, UK platforms and South African platforms. In the UK, these include Elevate (Abrdn), Aegon, AJ Bell, Aviva, Hargreaves Lansdown, Interactive Investor, Wealthtime (Novia), Transact and 7IM.

The Fund has been awarded 5 Crowns by FE fundinfo and a 5 Star rating from Morningstar.

*Investment Association Global sector definition

The Morningstar Rating is an assessment of a fund’s past performance – based on both return and risk – which shows how similar investments compare with their competitors. A high rating alone is insufficient basis for an investment decision. For each fund with at least a three-year history, Morningstar calculates a Morningstar Rating based on a Morningstar Risk- Adjusted Return measure that accounts for variation in a fund’s monthly performance (including the effects of sales charges, lo ads and redemption fees), placing more emphasis on downward variations and rewarding consistent performance. The top 10% of funds in each category receive 5 stars, the next 22.5% receive 4 stars, the next 35% receive 3 stars, the next 22.5% receive 2 stars and the bottom 10% receive 1 star. The Overall Morningstar Rating for a fund is derived from a weighted average of the performance figures associated with its three-, five- and 10-year (if applicable) Morningstar Rating metrics.
