Aubrey Capital Management investment manager Rob Brewis agreed that both candidates' policies will likely lead to higher inflation and could cause the US Federal Reserve to put further rate cuts on hold, which could impact other established and emerging markets.
"Regardless of the US election result, the core themes driving emerging markets - urbanisation, rising consumption and a growing, aspirational population - remain true," Brewis said.
"We believe that active stock picking based on a fundamental bottom-up approach, with an awareness of macro factors, is the best way for investors to explore opportunities within these markets."
