The Covid pandemic has cost the UK money. A lot of money. And now the government wants it back. Cue a call for higher taxes by the current ruling Conservative Party at its annual conference, which took place this past week.
Meanwhile, figures published by the Investment Association show the importance of the retail investor in generating net sales in the fund market. But inflation is heading for 4% even as post tax income is cut. What might happen to the share of wallets spent on funds?
