Investors are starting to anticipate that U.K. and U.S. interest-rate decisions could diverge, with high inflation meaning the Bank of England will raise rates more than previously expected just as U.S. rates near their peak, analysts say.
“It’s quite surprising to see markets price in such divergent paths in coming years between the Fed [Federal Reserve] and the BOE,” HSBC head of U.K. rates strategy Daniela Russell told Dow Jones Newswires in an interview.
